This is probably the most obvious option for any organization. Taking your team out for lunch is a norm for employers to create bonds between employees. However, to spice things up, you can take out your team to a more rare spot, probably someplace where they haven’t all tried before. If done right, group lunches will spark the most wholesome conversations and help build stronger relationships. You can have these team lunches once a month or after every joyous occasion such as a successful launch. Just remember to switch places up each time to make it more interesting.
Surprise them with treats
You can bring your team together more often by surprising them with treats every once in a while. Bringing in a treat in the middle of a workday when they least expect it can make their day. For example, if you have a couple of team members with a sweet tooth, desserts like ice cream will do the trick. At lunch, you can bring out an ice cream cart with a variety of toppings and flavors. You can also bring in healthy and nutritious snacks for them to choose from.
These simple yet spontaneous moments allow your employees to take a break, relax and mingle with other coworkers. Doing these kinds of things is also a way for you to say, “thank you for your hard work.” This will surely boost them when they resume their work for the rest of the day.
Rent a house
A great weekend getaway is by renting a beach house or in the mountains. Choose a location that everybody will enjoy. You can take a look at Airbnb and Vrbo for such listings. Having a place where you can find fresh air and enough sunlight is good for your health. Having a cozy place also lets your team relax and recalibrate when you return from work. While there, you can maximize the time by making your team brainstorm new ideas. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be a formal one. The only purpose is to reflect on how can everyone create a better impact in your organization.
Start a tradition
There’s more to celebrate than just traditional office celebrations. Whenever your team achieves something for the business, go ahead and celebrate—even in the small wins. Try to have a fun office party after your team accomplishes a milestone or finish big projects. Create opportunities to have some fun with your employees a few times a year.
